I gave birth January 2009 Caesarian Section. My salary is above 15K. I only received 30K as maternity benefit, shouldn't i get higher because the delivery was CS not normal? Is 30K the maximum amount? I've read few other forums and did my own computation, for normal, i'm supposed to get 30K but if it's for CS, shouldn't I get like 39K for this?

Yes, it should be 39k if your salary is 15k or higher and you delivered via C-section. This is the maximum amount that a woman can get from SSS for c-section delivery. The idea is SSS will pay you a maximum of 500 a day during your maternity leave. That's 500 x 60 days for normal delivery and 500 x 78 days for cs delivery.
However, the amount will vary depending on your salary for the previous months. Here's a good computation that I found online. This might help you compute how much you really should have gotten:

SSS Question
I have totally neglected with blog...but don't worry I'll do my best to find time to post. If you don't hear from me here, you can always go to my other blog, e-Pamilya.
Anyway, the reason of this post is because for quite some time now, I've been getting questions related to my Maternity Benefit Post. I usually answer by commenting on the post but I think this last question deserve a separate post of it's own.
So the comment was:
"Kitkat would want to ask if all deduction should be made by HR on the SSS checks . example 7500 less the tax ss loans pagibig loans etc."
Kitkat, I'm not really an expert but from my experience, YES your company should deduct your monthly loan payment for SSS or Pag-ibig from your salary as soon as you give them the loan stub (the piece of paper attached to the check that you get from SSS/Pag-ibig). This is because they are the one's that remit your payment to SSS and Pag-ibig, together with your monthly contribution.
Before, SSS allows individuals to personally pay their loans. In this case, you'll pay your SSS loan through credited banks and your company will not deduct that payment in your salary. But just recently, I think SSS decided that all employee transactions should be process through their employeers, so now all employee transactions should go through the employeer.
As for Pag-ibig, I think they still allow individuals to personally pay for their loans but you have to coordinate it with your HR to be sure.
Personally, I would suggest to just let you're HR handle your loan payment. It's a lot easier that way.

New and Improve Mommy In Manila
I didn't realized that it's been almost 2 months since I put this site under construction. I'm pretty much done with the look, though I'm still working on the content. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks I'll manage to post something worthy to read here.
